Vermont 911 Public Safety Answering Point’s (PSAPs) Weather the Storm
This year is the 20th Anniversary of Enhanced 911 in the State of Vermont. The Vermont
911 PSAPs and their personnel were tested during the severe storm that hit Vermont last Friday
into Saturday morning and they responded with amazing effort. The PSAPs received a total of
(667) 911 calls during a twelve-hour period. That is four times the normal 911 call volume
for that same period based on historic data. The Enhanced 911 Board wants to recognize all
the men and women in the six Vermont PSAPs that dedicate themselves to always being there to
assist citizens and visitors in a time of need.
